Kunsthaus Dive

Home to one of Switzerland's finest collections, the Kunsthaus spans centuries of European art (from Old Masters and Impressionism through to Giacometti, Swiss Modernism, and a world-class contemporary programme).

We'll shape our time around what draws you in. I'll bring context, stories, and the details that don't make it onto the wall labels — and if there's something specific you've been curious about, we'll make sure we find it.

The Kunsthaus Collection

The Kunsthaus brings together more than 800 years of art history, with paintings, sculptures, installations, works on paper, photographs, video and digital works shown in regularly changing presentations. Its particular strengths span several areas. Highlights include the largest collection of Munch paintings outside Norway, the most comprehensive collection of works by Alberto Giacometti, and outstanding Impressionist and Classical Modernist paintings — from Monet, Picasso and Chagall to Kokoschka, Beckmann and Corinth. Alongside Pop Art works by Warhol and Hamilton are works by Rothko, Twombly, Beuys and Baselitz. Video installations and photographs by Fischli/Weiss and Pipilotti Rist extend the collection into the 21st century. Swiss art has been a defining thread since the museum's founding: special emphasis is given to Swiss art and, in particular, the sculpture of Alberto Giacometti and the avant-garde Dada movement, which originated in Zurich's Cabaret Voltaire in 1916.
